Along with our partner Limpida, we recently held the first event dedicated to arcplan users in France. arc|forum took place on March 21st in Paris at La Cantine, the city’s first collaborative workspace (“co-working space”) – a unique location for this one-of-a-kind event.
The event brought arcplan users together with technical and functional experts. Among the 40 participants were management and directors from Veolia Water, Siemens, Natixis, Diana Food, and Bank BNP Paribas, to name a few.
arc|forum’s agenda balanced customer presentations with knowledge exchange and workshops. It kicked off with a presentation from myself – I’m arcplan’s Director of Strategic Alliances, and I spoke about arcplan’s goals and objectives for the French market.
Next, our CEO Roland Hölscher (pictured right) gave insight into our next platform release (slated for September). He revealed that it will be centered on the concept of DORA: Develop Once, Run Anywhere – arcplan’s approach to business intelligence for all devices and form factors. It makes responsive design simple and easy, and allows our unified platform for reporting, dashboards, and self-service BI to be even more flexible and dynamic.
October 24, 2012 marked our third successful arc|planet Korea conference. More than 200 participants gathered in Seoul to glean insight on business intelligence best practices, network with other arcplan users, and see the latest updates to the arcplan 7.5 platform. Our partner Zalesia graciously hosted this event and provided mobile devices that attendees used to explore some of the newest features discussed in the day’s presentations.
I previewed the new features and functions of arcplan 7.5 which was released to the general public the following day. Attendees were excited to see improvements to our planning solution (including enhancements to workflow and simulation methods), upgraded charting (including motion charts, which allow users to see changes in data over time), the new KPI designer (which allows users to design their own roll-up measures), and more. I also shared an outlook of the BI industry, covering hot topics such as data analytics, collaborative BI and mobile BI. Our Korean customers are early adopters of new technologies, so this presentation proved to be of particular interest.
But of course, the highlight of any arc|planet event is the presentations by arcplan customers…
On June 2nd, more than 200 participants came together for arc|planet Korea 2011. I was lucky enough to attend the event, our second in South Korea, and see terrific presentations from our customers in the finance, manufacturing, and retail industries. We were kindly hosted by our partner, Zalesia, who showed off arcplan Mobile on 5 different mobile phones and tablet PCs, which were never out of attendees’ hands.
Like arc|planet Germany, this event gathered arcplan users together for a day of best practice sharing, networking, and learning about arcplan’s vision and product strategy. There was a lot of excitement about our newest product, arcplan Engage, our BI search and collaboration tool, which gathers data, reports, and dashboards wherever they reside (whether they’re in SharePoint, Salesforce.com, email, arcplan, SAP, or other BI systems) and makes them available for rating and commenting so the best data rises to the top. Our Korean customers are early adopters of new technologies, so naturally arcplan Engage was a hot topic.
Also a hot topic – self-service analytics. There was a lot of interest around web pivoting and drag-and-drop functionality, both available in arcplan Enterprise 7.
