Langenfeld, Germany. July 24, 2008 – arcplan, an international provider of Enterprise Performance Management solutions, announced today that it has appointed a new CEO, Detlef Kamps, who joins arcplan with immediate effect. He takes over from Guenter H. Krauss, who has left the company. Kamps is tasked with driving rapid growth in arcplan’s international operations, particularly in North America, and enriching the product portfolio.
Extensive experience in growing international software companies
Detlef Kamps’ experience in the enterprise software field stretches back two decades. Before joining arcplan he was co-founder (in 1998) and President of RedDot Solutions Corp, the US operations of web content management specialist RedDot. As well as ensuring rapid profitable growth and a loyal, satisfied customer base, Kamps initiated and supported the successful sale of the company in 2005 to Hummingbird, which is now part of Open Text. Prior to RedDot, Kamps served as vice-president of sales and marketing at Spectrum Laboratories, Inc., a California-based provider of bioprocessing solutions. At Spectrum, he defined and implemented successful direct sales, marketing, and business development strategies. Previously, he was a consultant at Kurt Salmon Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in the retail, consumer products, and healthcare industries, where he moved from Germany to the US and developed IT strategies for multiple Fortune 500 companies in Europe and the US. Earlier, he worked at the leading German airline, Lufthansa, developing and marketing flight engine monitoring software. Kamps began his career at the software company Brainware in his native Berlin. He holds a BA in economics from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn (Germany) and an MA in business administration, economics and computer science from the Freie Universität Berlin.
Ambitious plans from a good market position
“This is a great time to be joining arcplan because consolidation in the rest of the BI industry is opening up great opportunities for specialized, customer-focused vendors,” said Detlef Kamps, commenting on his appointment as CEO of arcplan. “With an established market position in Europe, arcplan has also gained significant traction in the US recently. In my new position as global CEO, my mission now is to rapidly build on this momentum by driving our business forward in North America, while expanding our reach into other countries by growing our network of partners. We are also aligning our business even more closely into our customers with additional investment in the kinds of products and support that best meet their needs.”
