New software blends BI and Web 2.0 for Collaborative Business Intelligence
Latest addition to arcplan product suite allows information consumers to fully participate in corporate decision-making
Allows users to find relevant information within traditional BI reports, as well as context-relevant and unstructured information stored in other 3rd party systems.
Berwyn, PA & Langenfeld Germany, Nov. 16, 2010 - arcplan, an independent provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced the official start date for its early-bird program for its new product, arcplan Engage. Starting on Dec. 6, 2010, accepted participants will be able to experience arcplan’s next-generation BI application/tool that combines traditional BI with proven Web 2.0 communication and knowledge sharing functions, serving the growing space of Collaborative Business Intelligence.
Market studies show that the use of BI continues to be a high priority for organizations. A recent Gartner Group study of Top 10 Strategic Technology Areas for 2011 confirmed that BI and analytics are key tools for companies to enhance their organization’s competitiveness. The study also showed that there is a shift from standard analytics, often requiring BI experts to create, to social and next-generation analytics.
arcplan Engage will be trend leading, allowing information consumers to tap the wealth of information available in their organization with simple-to-use search functions, allowing users to access, comment, rate and share their findings on BI analytics, dashboards and other context-relevant information made available within the company’s IT systems. Users, who have been self-trained to use Web 2.0 functionality from platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc., can immediately start using these new modes of communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing within the enterprise using this new software.
arcplan Engage comes with a core server to quickly find and integrate data from diverse sources, perform analysis on structured and unstructured data, dashboards, portals, etc. – once configured – with little or no IT involvement. The front end to the information consumer is a simple web-browser interface to publish the information and augment it with additional content (users can add comments, tags, and ratings), and adapt results via simple widget creation. The search interface is complemented by recommendations, bookmarks, and RSS functions to stay “connected” with your information.
The final version of arcplan Engage is targeted to be deployed on top of any BI stack and will complement arcplan Enterprise and arcplan Edge; other products in the arcplan suite.
Interested parties can go toand submit their request to participate in the early-bird program. As the program can only accept a limited number of participants, an ideal candidate should preferably meet the following criteria:
The program will start on Dec. 6, 2010 and will last until March 31, 2011. Participants will get direct access to the arcplan Engage team and will be involved in the product development and quality management process.
