The financial year in review: double-digit growth for arcplan in new customer business

Langenfeld, Germany, and Berwyn, PA – Nov 11, 2010 – arcplan, an international provider of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, outpaced the growth of the market and achieved other significant accomplishments during the the last financial year that ended September 30, 2010. The company increased the size of its customer base by more than 12 percent, and saw its top line growth in license business grow 56 percent over last year's.

A number of well-known, global companies including Faber-Castell, NKD, SMS Group, Siemens France, Bosch USA, Turner Broadcasting, and Banco de Chile chose arcplan solutions last year. South America and Korea were especially strong areas of growth. arcplan's partner network was also greatly expanded; new partners in Spain, the U.S., and Latin America helped expand the company’s global reach. But it was Asia Pacific that saw the biggest increase in the number of distribution partners: more than 30 new partners joined the network last year in China and Australia alone.

This stronger market penetration can be traced chiefly to the newly-introduced versions of the arcplan Enterprise 6.6 BI platform, and arcplan Edge 2.0, a robust budgeting, planning, and forecasting solution. Together, these products provide holistic performance management capabilities and help support sound financial and operational decision-making throughout an organization.

The BI Survey 9, a large-scale, global independent research initiative sponsored by the Business Application Research Center (BARC), confirmed some of arcplan’s key differentiators. arcplan’s success in particular in heterogeneous data landscapes for SAP, Oracle, and IBM was confirmed and for the sixth consecutive year, the survey placed arcplan as the market’s leading third-party BI frontend provider for SAP BW, Oracle Essbase, and IBM Cognos TM1. arcplan was also named tops for Goal Achievement among more than 20 BI platforms included in the study.

The company made strides in its strategy to make BI ubiquitous and inclusive of non-traditional data sources by focusing on social BI. Businesses are placing more and more emphasis on accessing unstructured data sources outside the classic BI ecosystem, which will have a marked impact on the development of BI systems in the coming years. Product evaluations, status updates, and comments are highly relevant information that traditional BI infrastructures are unable to capture currently. But arcplan’s partnership with infospeed, a leading provider of social media monitoring, has laid the foundation for arcplan BI solutions that can combine and present social media data simply and quickly alongside key business indicators and a social media scorecard.
