Numerous workshops and lectures demonstrate the advantages and opportunities of business intelligence for enterprises while keynote presentations delve into performance management trends and indentify criteria for better reports.
Langenfeld, February 15, 2011 – The clock is ticking: in just a few weeks, arcplan’s annual user forum, arc|planet, kicks off in Düsseldorf/Kaarst, Germany. During this event from March 31 to April 1, participants will see arcplan’s latest product developments and the innovative BI solutions that have been built with arcplan software.
arc|planet offers the ideal platform for advanced training and in-depth exchanges with industry experts, users and arcplan partners. The rich and diverse program will give attendees a clear idea of how BI solutions can be employed to meet today's increasingly complex business demands. This year's theme – "arcplan Hands On" – highlights the wide variety of BI applications in use at arcplan clients and the many benefits they’ve achieved.
Many leading scientific and economic experts will be presenting at arc|planet 2011. Dr. Wolfgang Martin, renowned BI expert and market analyst, will deliver a keynote address on performance management trends. His talk will focus on developments in the area of BI, analysis and planning. In a second keynote speech, Prof. Dr. Rolf Hichert, CEO at Hichert & Partner, will discuss why it is difficult for managers to understand their reports and what criteria can be applied to make them better. Other speakers include Prof. Dr. Matthias Fank from the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, as well as corporate consultants from Aluminium Norf, Bayer, Ernst & Young, Haniel, Hermes and Merck.
In addition to analyst, partner, and client presentations, arc|planet will also feature a series of exciting workshops in which participants can interact with BI experts and get answers to their individual concerns. An informative lecture series on arcplan's product portfolio and topics like “Mobile BI” and “Search & Collaboration" will allow attendees to envision the many ways their own companies can leverage BI to improve efficiency and productivity. An exclusive evening event at the close of Day 1 will give all participants the opportunity to network and share their experiences.
The central focus of the event will be the new version of arcplan Enterprise software, which will be officially launched at arc|planet. Attendees can try out arcplan Enterprise 7's features for themselves, including Web Pivoting, animated charts, an Essbase MDX interface, and improved user administration and security.
arcplan will also be introducing a new software solution: arcplan Engage. This next-generation BI product combines the well-known advantages of Business Intelligence with tried-and-true Web 2.0 functions that enhance communication and knowledge transfer. arcplan Engage is positioned to meet the growing demand for self-service BI. It allows users to access all information contained within the company using a simple, user-friendly search function. Users can access BI applications, reports, dashboards and other contextually relevant data contained within the company's IT environment. They can rate and comment on the data so the best, most relevant reports and information rise to the top.
arcplan Mobile will be another focal point at arc|planet. This new solution for mobile users allows users to access BI applications directly from iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and Android devices without the need to individually configure a separate app for each device. arcplan Mobile also provides a reliable and secure connection to company data, supporting SAP, Oracle, IBM, Microsoft and other systems. With this package, arcplan provides users with the tools necessary to access operative data and financial information anytime, anywhere.
The broad range of presentations is complemented by an accompanying exhibition where arcplan partners antares, Braincourt, Ernst & Young, Kibra, PARIS Technologies, Selbach, Partake Consulting, SYNAXUS and TDWI will display their service and solution portfolios as well highlight current projects.
"From regular discussions with customers, we've learned which challenges today's businesses face on a daily basis – namely, lowering costs while increasing efficiency and productivity," says Roland Hölscher, arcplan's CTO. "At arc|planet, we're looking forward to showing new ways to help businesses make better decisions using sound information – which, in the end, optimizes your company's performance."
Following arc|planet Germany, arc|planet USA will take place on April 14, 2011. To give even more customers the chance to engage with arcplan experts and users, the American forum will be held, for the first time, as a virtual conference.
